In this introductory class with Kate Craven, newer actors will build a foundation of craft through script analysis, voice and body work and scene study, with an eye on delivering truthful performances on screen. With a strong emphasis on developing the actor as both artist and professional, Kate offers a superior level of training and a safe space to learn the fundamentals of our art form. This class also acts as an entry point for advanced classes at the studio with Aaron Craven.
Kate is of the belief that acting should be FUN and that coaching should take place in a positive, comfortable environment where the student feels safe to explore and grow. She puts an emphasis on increasing performers’ self-esteem, so that each actor can maintain a healthy mindset for longevity in the industry, and an overall positive quality of life.
Kate began her training for film and television in Sydney, Australia with renowned acting coach Sandra Lee Paterson. On moving to Vancouver, Canada Kate found her home at The Working Actors Gym and has been studying with industry veteran Aaron Craven for the past decade, developing both her craft and her teaching technique. Aaron and Kate are also partners in life, running Mitch and Murray Productions and raising their young son together.
