KATE CRAVEN – PLAYING A

Born in Australia and relocating to Canada, Kate works as both an actor and screenwriter.

Kate is a burgeoning writer and has developed four screenplays, two stage plays and is in development for both a series and a limited series for television. She is one of the faces behind Mitch and Murray Productions, and also teaches ongoing classes at The Working Actors Gym.

CHRISTIAAN WESTERVELD – PLAYING B

Christiaan has appeared on stage in At Sea, Staring Up, Don’t Forget Your Pants, How Much Are Those Feelings In The Window? and Suburban Motel: Featuring Loretta for Vancouver Fringe. His film and television credits as an actor include The Flash, The Man In The High Castle, Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, Van Helsing, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, Supernatural, Irreverent and Woody Woodpecker.

He has written (Best Of Men) and directed (A Steady Rain) plays and completed project development, writing and improvisation courses with JUTE Theatre Company. He is a QUT graduate of the Bachelor Fine Arts Acting program.


AARON CRAVEN – DIRECTOR

Aaron is the founder and artistic director of Mitch and Murray Productions. Select theatre credits as an actor with the company include Lungs, Smart People, Detroit and Snowflake (Jessie Award Nomination, Best Lead Actor, Small Theatre). He has also directed the plays Rapture, Blister, Burn, Sex With Strangers and Body Awareness. His debut play as a writer, Instantaneous Blue, received its world premiere in 2023 at The Waterfront Theatre.

Aaron has also been a busy screen actor in Canada and the USA for two decades, playing everything from presidents to serial killers. Select Film/TV: Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, Age of Adaline, NCIS, iZombie, Travelers, The Bletchley Circle:San Francisco, and various suit-wearing boyfriends in Hallmark movies.

He also coaches actors at The Working Actors Gym, the training wing of Mitch and Murray Productions.

DAVID ROBERTS – Set Design

David completed his MA in scenography in London and Prague and has since designed shows across Canada and the UK. He brings an artist’s aesthetic to his search to find the visual and emotional essence of a piece. In addition to theatre his interests range from multi media sculpture, interior and landscape design and competitive modern fencing.

Recent stage work includes Mama Mia for the Arts Club, Kill Me Now for Touchstone, Body Awareness, Lungs,Snowflake and Instantaneous Blue for Mitch and Murray and Crazy For You for Royal City Musical Company. In the pipeline is a multi dimensional theatrical installation at Theatre Radost, Brno, Czechia.

David is a multiple Jessie nominee and winner, has been nominated for the Canadian Screen and Leo awards and is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada. Visit davidscenographer.ca

HINA NISHIOKA (She/her)  – Lighting Design

Hina is a lighting designer based in the lower mainland of BC (the ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples). Originally from Japan, she enjoys exploring projects with the variety of cultural backgrounds. Her recent lighting design credits include Hurricane Mona (Touchstone Theatre), Yaga (Touchstone Theatre), and Blue Stockings (Studio 58). Her most recent assistant lighting design credits are The Magic Flute (Vancouver Opera/LD: Scott Zielinski), As You Like It and Julius Caesar (Bard on the Beach 2023/LD: Gerald King). When she is not in theatre, she works as a lighting programmer/operator for live music, corporate events and film and television shootings. She holds a BFA in theatre from University of Victoria. EMILY TREPANIER – Lighting Design Assistant 

Emily Trepanier (she/her) is an emerging artist from Coquitlam, BC, located on the unceded traditional territory of the Kwikwetlem First Nation, which lies within the shared territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Katzie, Musqueam, Qayqayt, Squamish, and Sto’:lo Nations. She is a recent graduate of the University of Victoria where she holds a BFA in theatre. Assistant design credits include: Vigil, Assistant Lighting Designer, (Belfry Theatre); The Birds, Assistant Lighting Designer (Pacific Opera Victoria) A WONDERHEADS Christmas Carol, Assistant Projection Designer, (WONDERHEADS). When not designing, she enjoys working as a technician and producer for live events of all sorts.


JENIFER DARBELLAY – Costume Designer

Jenifer Darbellay has designed for theatre and performance for many years. She has been blessed to work with Arts Club Theatre, Gateway Theatre, UBC Theatre Department, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects (Calgary), Lunchbox Theatre, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (Calgary), University of Calgary Theatre Department, Mount Royal College Theatre Department (Calgary), Two Planks and a Passion Theatre (Nova Scotia), Tarragon Theatre (Toronto), Veritgo Theatre, Ground Zero Theatre, and others. She is thrilled to be a part of this production with Mitch and Murray Productions, after working on their production of Instantaneous Blue last season. Jenifer has received three Betty Mitchell Awards (Alberta) and one Merritt Award (Nova Scotia) for Outstanding Costume Design. She works, paints and lives in Vancouver with her family. Xo 

RICK COLHOUN – Sound Designer

Rick is a Jessie award-winning designer from Vancouver.  Rick last worked with Mitch And Murray on ‘Lungs’. Recent credits include ELF (The Arts Club), Pass Over (Ensemble Theatre Company), Gaslight (Chemainus Theatre), and Christmas Presence (Pacific Theatre).

SUSAN CURRIE – Stage Manager

JESSE MILLER – Fight Choreography, Assistant Stage Manager

Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Jesse moved to Vancouver to pursue a profession as both an actor and stunt performer. His stunt credits include Turner and Hooch (Disney), So Help Me Todd (CBS), Riverdale (CW), Batwoman (CW) and HBO’s The Last Of Us. As one of the lead stunt doubles on Batwoman he has gained proficient experience with wirework, fight choreography and the art of physical expression.

This is Jesse’s second Mitch and Murray production. He had the pleasure of being apart of Instantaneous Blue which premiered in early 2023. Jesse is always excited to explore, collaborate and continually expand the foundation of his craft.

JAMIE SWEENEY – Production Manager / Technical Director

Jamie Sweeney is a Canadian, Vancouver-based, theatre collaborator. She is a technical director, a lighting designer a performer, a deviser, and an artist. She has a BFA in theatre production and design from Simon Fraser University. Some companies she has worked with include Mitch and Murray Productions, Ballet BC, Bard on the Beach, Vancouver Opera, Arts Club, Rice & Beans Theatre, vAct, and Neworld Theatre. TERESA TROVATO – Publicist

Teresa Trovato has twenty-three years of experience as a publicist in the arts and entertainment industry. Based in Vancouver, B.C., she has worked on national events including festivals, music tours, and comedy tours. Over the past seven years, Teresa has turned her focus to the arts and has worked for various organizations including Firehall Arts Centre, MADE | NOUS, Mitch and Murray Productions, SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs, Some Assembly Theatre Company, and more. www.teresatrovato.com

Mike Bartlett is a multi-award-winning writer for both stage and screen.
